Guesthouse & garden · Hudson Valley

A quiet house at the end of the lane

Garden rooms, a cottage in the orchard and long breakfasts on the terrace — a restored farmhouse kept simple, so the days can be slow.

We keep the house simple on purpose: good beds, open windows, a garden to get lost in, and nobody hurrying you out of the door.

Rooms & spaces

Every room opens onto the garden. Take a room in the house, the cottage across the orchard, or the whole place for a weekend with the people you love.

The Garden Rooms

The Garden Rooms

Rooms on the ground floor of the farmhouse, each opening straight onto the planted courtyard. Leave the doors open in summer and wake to the garden.

The Pavilion

The Pavilion

An open-sided pavilion at the bottom of the garden, for long lunches, small ceremonies, or simply an afternoon with a book and nowhere to be.

The Orchard Cottage

The Orchard Cottage

A cottage of its own across the orchard, with a veranda looking back over the lawn — for couples, families, or anyone who wants a door that is only theirs.

The Deck

The Deck

Hammocks, low chairs and the shade of the old trees. It is where most guests end up by late afternoon, and where the evening usually begins.

The house

Larchwood is an old farmhouse we restored slowly, keeping what was good about it — thick walls, deep windowsills, a garden that had been loved for a long time — and adding only what makes a stay easy.

We live on the grounds and look after the house ourselves. Breakfast is served on the terrace when the weather allows, and by the fire when it doesn't. In the barn we host small weddings and long-table dinners for families and friends.
